Saüc Ensemble

Early Music with mediterranean soul

Saüc does not offer you a conventional classical concert. We speak with the audience, share the stories behind each piece, and create a space where laughter, curiosity, and silence all have their place. At the end of the concert, we invite everyone to come closer, discover the instruments, and experience the music with their own hands.

Directed by Sergio González Prats (Hurdy-Gurdy and Harp) and Daïna Mateu (Historical Flutes), Saüc Ensemble is dedicated to reviving forgotten music preserved in ancient manuscripts and bringing it back to audiences, so that it can move them once again, just as it did centuries ago.

“The atmosphere was a blend of wonder and joy, a reflection of Saüc Ensemble’s talent for turning the Renaissance into a shared experience. ‘I never imagined this early music could be so much fun,’ someone remarked on the way out, summing up the general feeling. Saüc made it clear that the past can sound alive and playful when performed —and presented— with such passion.”

Early music with a touch of spice

That’s how our program Mármara has been described — a fusion of lively everyday stories from the Spanish Renaissance with traditional music from the Mediterranean. Here you can see an example from our concert at the Museum of History of Manacor (Balearic Islands).
